Nashville Man Calls 911 w/Challenge: “This is a Game… If you find me there’s going to be a problem!”

On Monday (President’s Day), a Nashville 911 operator received a call that stated “This is a game. The point of the game is to find me, and if you find me, there’s going to be a problem.

The 49 year old man on the other end of the call would turn out to be Dagan Lara (who changed his legal name from Samuel Joseph Galvan in 1999). According to the MNPD, at 5:32PM the ECC received a 911 call from Dagan Lara, stating that this is a game and the point of the game is to find him and if he is found there is going to be a problem.

Of course, officers located the defendant behind at a residence on Elysian Fields Rd laying on the back patio. Dagan Lara then stated that the officer found him and the game is over. He then stated that he did not need emergency help and that it was a game.

During the course of the investigation, the officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person, he had bloodshot watery eyes, was unsteady on his feet, and had a slurred speech. Based on his level of intoxication, it is believed that he would be a danger to himself. When the defendant was asked to put his hands behind his back and that he was under arrest, he walked away from the officer at least 3 times. When the officer caught the defendant and was attempting to place his hands behind his back, the defendant kept pulling away multiple times and kept turning around. The officer kept telling the defendant to stop resisting but he refused all verbal commands.

Dagan Lara is being held on a $4,000 bond for the following charges: non emergency 911 call, public intoxication, evading arrest, resisting arrest. He will make a second appearance in court on 02/26/2018.
